It's a Small World is my favorite attraction in Disneyland. My favorite artist ever was heavily involved in the whole project, its all super colorful and adorable, and it showcases the world which I will one day see more of! To celebrate the 50th Anniversary, I doodled on post-its a couple of my favorite sights during my lunch break at work.

Once Upon a Wintertime
December was a great month for me- two of my dreams came true! One was to get my design on with anything from "Once Upon a Wintertime" (which is my favorite animated short film of all time!) The other was to go behind the scenes of "It's a Small World" in Disneyland. Can you believe it!? They both came true! You also may have notice they have something in common, someone named Mary Blair. Love her work so much!
Here is the finished piece I did for the Sketch of the Month on the Disney site:

Disneyland Romances
We had an art contest at work with the theme, "What do you love best about Disneyland?" This is the painting I submitted. One of the best things about my job is that I get to create memories for people- and even more specifically, helping people propose! Often, I get people coming up to get a sketch that says "Will You Marry Me?" and a couple of times, "Will you be my girlfriend?" I think it's brilliant! To have that single question forever treasured on a piece of paper. When they look at it, they will both remember that moment when the question was popped. A lot of engagements take place in front of the castle or in my favorite room, the Animation room! I went with the Castle, remembering all the fun times getting to know my now boyfriend when we'd meet in the park to watch the fireworks or sit in front of the castle chowing down on a churro.
This engagement is probably my favorite that I've come across on youtube... Also, this one. Oh, cuteness!

Haunted Mansion
Here's an acrylic painting I was recently hired to do. It's a simple representation of this little place called the HAUNTED MANSION!

Mad T Life Drawing
When I get a chance, I stay after work to doodle around the park. Here's some from a fairly recent bout at Mad T.

Bug Dancer Doodle
A doodle inspired by the Bug dancers in the Pixar Play Parade. Her costume design and colors are probably really off, I tried to do it from memory. These girls are so adorable in their colorful outfits and big smiles!

Work Break Doodles-- Sept. 8th 2012
Lately, I've opened super early on the weekends so I down a huge cup of coffee. It was all going as planned- coffee in mah stomach- until pigeons showed up. It was a first, but somehow, I know deep in my heart, they'll be back tomorrow.
It takes a lot to get me angry, but when it happens, it happens hard.

Joy Ride

I did this piece for a friend for Christmas. He's my Disneyland pal and he's always daydreaming about taking one of the trams for a joy ride. He's too shy to ever attempt this as well as Disney jail doesn't sound appealing. You have to think- if Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth.... then Disney jail has to be like the saddest place on Earth.
Here's some detail. This was done in gouache and ink.

And the rough sketch I began with. It's really dark from transferring it onto the paper.
