Cheery Guttersnipe

I've been drawing non-stop recently to create new content for my portfolio. Mostly props, lots of lamps and lots of hooks and other objects to be used by people without a hand, and a churro. I've only had one churro in my life- but I remember it so well I did a turn around of it, as well as what it'd look like with a bite out of it. Yum...

So, for a minute, I was tired of drawing and wanted to give art up completely. I threw my desk against the wall and crushed the neighbor kid's chalk that he left on the sidewalk. I was done! I had enough! Then, I started daydreaming while I cleaned off the cut on my hand that I got from smashing my teacup- I was thinking that I'd like to draw a bird. So I did. Then I thought, I'm tired of Lady Lows, I want to create something new. So I did. (You won't see it for awhile- still developing the world a little more.) Then I realized the reason I didn't want to draw was because I wasn't letting myself have a little fun. So I let my hair down.

The following sketches are inspired by My Fair Lady. A welcomed distraction!

I was thinking, It might be a good idea to work on simple poses for a while as well...Just standing poses with nice proportions and weight to the character. Then after the character is established pose it out. Just a thought...

i agree with what Gordon says. i'd also like to add taking an anger management class.. you know... or whatever :0)

nice work though. i can see your drawings coming along for sure! never forget to have fun while drawing. if you get frustrated or bored with it all, eat a big bowl of sugary cereal while watching old Looney Tunes. works every time!
