Love that Peter Pan

I feel like we can call November the month of Pin Ups. I'd like to color a couple of them when I make some spare time. I say "make" because that's what it has to be. "When I get" is unrealistic because you will never get spare time, you have to make time for the things you love!
For a different shade of sketch, I've decided to start December off with something I love- PETER PAN! I'm definitely painting this one this month. :)

That Beach
Played a little risque with the width of her forearms and calves. Don't look at her feet, for real. She has foot fungus and you don't want to catch it nor is it pretty to look at. Really, I wanted to draw a leggy blond while listening to "Leggy Blonde" by Flight of the Conchords. It was a nice break from this kid's primer I'm working on. The illustrations just got approved so coloring starts now. I'll post some of my concept art for it soon! It's mostly a hodge podge of a diverse cast of children. It was a first for me drawing an Asian kid! Don't miss the excitement- next time on Cassie's blog!

Creatures of Habit - Laney Design
In between little things here, there, and working at Disneyland, I've been coming up with character designs for a web series I'm working on. The voices were recorded prior to moving away from Chicago for a few episodes, and I'm chugging away at the first animatic. I'm hoping to finalize characters by the end of the month to have a finished animatic in August... then I'll have to teach myself Flash... oh boy...
This is the design for Laney.

Cheery Guttersnipe
I've been drawing non-stop recently to create new content for my portfolio. Mostly props, lots of lamps and lots of hooks and other objects to be used by people without a hand, and a churro. I've only had one churro in my life- but I remember it so well I did a turn around of it, as well as what it'd look like with a bite out of it. Yum...
So, for a minute, I was tired of drawing and wanted to give art up completely. I threw my desk against the wall and crushed the neighbor kid's chalk that he left on the sidewalk. I was done! I had enough! Then, I started daydreaming while I cleaned off the cut on my hand that I got from smashing my teacup- I was thinking that I'd like to draw a bird. So I did. Then I thought, I'm tired of Lady Lows, I want to create something new. So I did. (You won't see it for awhile- still developing the world a little more.) Then I realized the reason I didn't want to draw was because I wasn't letting myself have a little fun. So I let my hair down.
The following sketches are inspired by My Fair Lady. A welcomed distraction!

Weekend Drawrings!
Here's a few of many drawings I did over the weekend exploring a design I think will be Lily (from Lady Lows). I haven't exactly kept her design steady through the strip, but I didn't think I'd like drawing it so much- and now that I've recognized how much fun I have, I'll make a model sheet!
